Hi all,
the top part of the rear indicator "metal bars" (the part that was attached just below the rear light) has vibrated itself to death. I know this could be soldered, but I cannot do it, so I would prefer to have the new part installed. I would like suggestions as to whether you would recommend ordering the original part or whether there are better solutions you would recommend. I a not interested in originality as much as in robustness and functionality. Thanks to all Omobono

Ah, apologies, I thought the part was widely known, I realise now there are more Guzzi rear tail lights than I realised! I will get to the garage next weekend and take some picture (I don't live where my garage is). But the tail light is as in the picture above, which is the best I could find. Basically, below the light is a metal piece that holds the indicators and the reg number and which seems to me one with the rear light. This metal part is basically cut into two horizontally. I have nothing against installing a fully new light (perhaps a more attractive round one) if the whole group light/indicator/reg holder doe snot require new holes. So basically I am looking for a proven solutions others have used. Thanks Omobono

Nice bike mate.
With my SP and later Cali's etc, have found brackets breaking and mudguards splitting crossways often caused by excessive vibes due to cylinder imbalance, (' shaking the tail ')just a thought.

I have used these on my t3 and cali to t3alike. They come in two stalk lengths and are plentiful on ebay.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371399209590?itmmeta=01J0K3YY2MHWYGAMBAQ7AMFBB6&hash=item56791e3276:g:xFoAAOSw8HBZHJUg&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8IOQuQVL%2B%2FFRmrXlKmbjUdHBiatTXbU1u7h5h2PaQ%2FLY8JRy5u%2FH2GnCPYvx08G85nmH6cn9%2BguVujQXe5H6OJ0ZOO3G7hVIDJG%2FMgJ1V%2FIdPVEAP7TxipRtOD2E0LDHDQy5PUcjIIZS9UkIYEOitQ6z7bUODAJU0hsZ%2Fu6lHZW82SR8cYRGhhP8TsVukBLlJ0ETPSpG14qcm96zts0Pdl%2FlOtDSaudaSHRCXpHgQl1xFAdm%2FNnL%2FgebKXbMdmJZ8yM%2BlZ0leOfePI52mFwhtMNrh58FU3PmkLK%2Fhtiz2xoaG8n3qrLAdi0mNTBjcKvxDw%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR7Th--OEZA

Thanks Andrew, they seem attractive and better than the ones I have now.
However, the big issue for me is.... the part that holds the stalks. The metal part that starts from the bottom of the rear light and to which the stalks attach. It also holds the reg number. I will shoot some picture next weekend. I would not be averse to changing the entire "eighties"-group, if this can be done without new holes. Rear light, indicators and reg number holder. Thanks Omobono

Obviously I don't know your light/ indicators set up, but could you not just put the new stalks into the holes vacated by the old ones?

Hello again,
The problem is not the stalks. The stalks aren't great beauties, but they are fine.
The problem is the metal piece to which the stalks attach/screw in, and which also holds the reg number. This metal piece, normally attached to the rear light, is now cut in two (just below the light). The entire setup now hangs on the adhesive that keeps the reg number attached to the fender. Without that, it would all be dangling by the cable of the stalks, because there is nothing keeping the entire thing in position. |

I see, without seeing it it is difficult to judge what to do, if it's in two bits you could rivet, or bolt, a plate on to join both pieces.

It's obviously a long time since I had a Spada, I didn't think they mounted there like that, for some reason I thought it was higher up the mudguard, like near the pillion grab handle. (?) I found a picture of one Spada that is like that, but seems to be a minority! It seems like the only real repair is obtain or fabricate a new item. |

The quality ids very mediocre, don't know why. I have higher definition images, but they cannot be uploaded.
You can see at the base, just below the lamp, the broken metal that kept the reg holder, basically cut in two by rust and, possibly vibrations. I have looked better and that broken part is not part of the lamp. It is, in fact, a separate part, screwed from the other side of the mud guard, and located just below the lamp. So I guess the name of the game now would be to find a suitable replacement for the reg holder in order to avoid making holes in the mud guard. |

Aluminium plate works for me everytime (mainly because it's so easy to work with
)....this is V65 Florida which originally had reg plate hanging plastic rail that was moulded into massive rear lamp. |

Thanks Paul,
this is an available part or is it something you have made yourself? Where do the indicators go?
