Anyone use anything like Lucas oil stabiliser in your Guzzi , I have used it in previous bikes like my HD's , and I am thinking about using it in my V100 after the first service .

Not unless Guzzi specify it  - I wouldn't go near it for crankcase because modern oils are fully formulated with a carefully balanced additive package + baseoil blend + viscosity modifier for deposit control, anti-oxidant, antiwear, compatability, foam, seals, rust, anti-friction, dispersancy, etc; fully tested in standard engine bench tests & rig/lab tests to warrant the performance specs (API, ACEA etc).

Chucking in an untested (with the oil you put in) new set of additives could cause long term issues  in performance by interacting with existing additives, & even if it doesn't it would be a good reason to throw out any engine related warranty claims.

I do add molyslip to tsmall block rear drive boxes per guzzi service recommendations though !

Absolutely not, as has been said. Synthetic oil doesn’t need stabilising (whatever that means).

They don't specify Moly now for the same reason - modern oils etc.

True, but they are simpler formulations & simpler environment (and additive functionality is mainly Extreme Pressure anyway).....plus technically they do still specify it for my 30 years + bikes

As in it's written into the service manual which was printed 30 years ago?

Weirdly you can still buy Agip(Eni) Rotra MP 85W-140 (just higher specs like GL-5 in latest formulation probably means the extra shot of EP protection isn't important); but technically at least I'm following their recommendations  Thumbs Up

Yes, but look in the manual for the latest models and you dind that moly is no longer specified. The mechanics are the same, the oil is different.
