Hi to all, I have recently bought a 2016 V9 Roamer with 5K miles dissapointed with the handling but after fitting fork cartridges and changing rear shocks and tyres it is now as a guzzi should be. Unfortunately it has now developed a servere misfire, being old school I dont understand modern electrics and fuel injection. Can anyone offer advise before I spend all my kids inheritance and loose all my hair Unhappy  Thanks

Well the obvious is change the plugs and put a decent ose of injector cleaner in the tank and run it again.

The other possibility is the Phase sensor, they can become contaminated with swarf and cause a misfire.

Ethanol free fuel will not stop the injectors from clogging.

This is not a constant misfire but will try injector cleaner but do feel that the phase sensore may now be the culprit but dont know were it is located.Confused

Did the V9 also have problems with dodgy / loose plug caps like the V7?

Hi, is the misfire on one or both cylinders? If only one is affected have a look at the HT feed to the spark plug. If there is a leak of the HT that can be seen more easily if you run the motor in the dark and look for the short. I had a problem on my older Guzzi with HT woes especially in the wet which were cured by insulating the joints and plug cap to spark plug with a little silicon grease. Your problem could be just a connection malfunction. I am guessing the low tension connectors to the coils is also susceptible to damp. Best to start with the simple and cheap to fix parts in the hope that will get a solution. Hope you sort it soon.

If your engine is similar to the V7 simply try unplugging the electrical wires to the Lambda sensors in the exhausts.  This puts the ECU into open circuit and richens it below 4000rpm - to how it was probably originally designed.
It may be different on the V9, but worth tryinG

I'd love to know how that affects the ignition!
