I fancy a set of Pirelli MT 60's on my V7 Stone but concerned they might be a bit noisey on the road?
Any thoughts? Wildhenry. |

Fitted a set of Continental Road Attack 2s to my V7. They are much better than the Lasertecs that I had previously.
Sticky and don't have that tendency to follow every little groove or line in the road. Only done a few hundred miles on them so can't comment on longevity. |

I have had MT 60's on my new V7 Stone now for 1000 miles and don't find them noisy at all. Friends also ask about grip from such a chunky tyre, which also doesn't seem to be an issue.
Gradually getting those "chicken strips" scrubbed in too !!!!! Alan. |

Changed the Avon Road Riders for a pair of Pirelli Sport Demon on my V7 Stone
Wow! what a difference, they handle and grip really well in all conditions. When these wear out I will definitely buy another pair. Wildhenry. |

I found that the Sport Demon front tyre wants to follow every longitudinal groove in the road. The centre line in the front tyre is wavey supposedly to prevent this behaviour?
I fitted Michelin Pilot Activ tyres and the front tyre has a continuous straight groove around the centre of the tyre. This, in conventional wisdom) is supposed to follow any longitudinal grooves. In practice, it does not, so maybe conventional wisdom is wrong. They are good Xply tyres with good grip and supposedly longer life. They are also cheaper than the Sport Demon here in Oz. I like them. Cheers Brian C

Put Michelin Pilot Activ tyres on my V7II. The Sport Demons have a wavy centre line on the front tyre which is supposed to prevent white-lining etc., It doesn't.
The Pilot Activ tyres have a circumferential groove in the centre which , by conventional wisdom, should produce white-lining. It doesn't. The Michelins are competitively priced and are reputed to be slightly lower grip but have longer life. My tuppence worth. Cheers Brian

I'm done with the Sport Demons, my original front delaminated and Pirelli did refund me 100% of the unused tread. Now the replacement is starting to delaminate just as the first did. Steve.

Oldlegs, are you running pressure too low? Noone else seems to have that problem, but low pressure will cause more flexing and could cause de-lamination. Cheers Brian

Don't know if this helps but the handbook seems to suggest you should use 36psi front and rear which always sounded odd to me and totally contrary to any other bike I've had. After heaving the horrible OEM Metzlers into a hedge I've run both BT45s and Sports Demons at 33psi front and 36psi rear without any sign of a problem. Just my tuppence worth. Another thought; have you checked the manufacture date on the tyres?

V7 Classic Black and gold was the best. But green & black was nice too. Now blue is in!

I also thought 36 front and rear was unusual and like you run 33 front 36 rear. I didn't check the date of the 1st Demon which went back to Pirelli but it was the original tyre fitted to my 2015 V7 11 Stone from new. The second Demon is still on the bike I will check the date tomorrow, I've had a go at posting a photo but just can't get my head round it, I'm hopeless at this sort of thing you would not believe how long it has took me to write this. Steve.
