I picked up a new V7 III Special this week. Only one 15 mile ride in a misty rain the day I got it. Got snow on the ground now and cold weather for the next week. First impression is that I will like it. Seems torquey at low rpm and I love the light weight and quick handling. I was able to download a service and a parts manual from the Cadre Cycle(not my dealer) website. Great service for the Guzzi owner. Thanks Cadre. I bought oil, filter and necessary crush washers for the first service while I was at the dealer which is 225 miles away. 10/60 oil is not common and I thought I wanted Motul based on my research. The dealer did not have it and recommended ENI i Ride 10/60. I am not familiar with it. Was the i Ride 10/60 a good choice and what is the favored oil for Guzziriders. Thanks in advance for your input and I am thrilled to be a Guzzirider.

All the V7s I have seen in the UK have the ENI sticker on the Starter Motor if that reassures you. Used to be called Agip and are an Italian company. Probably what it left the factory with in the sump.

Did you go for the blue or the black special? Up here in Canada we can only get the blue one.

The manuals you downloaded will have the SAE spec of the oil required, so long as an oil meets that standard and has the correct viscosity rating, you are good to go.

Got a black V7 III Special, love the color. I am a standard bike person and have been looking for a good 400 lb bike and have found it. If the damn snow will melt and it warms up a little Iam looking forward to riding it. Regarding the oil, I am confident that the ENI i Ride 10/60 will be fine.

I have used Agip, now eni lubricants for a while now, and they are a top quality brand. I now am using Motul 10w60 in my blue Special, as I find it on ebay for a very reasonable price including shipping. The local dealer that had eni oils is no longer. I told him once that I thought it was a bad name, suppose a customer called on the phone and asked what oil brand to use, the response would be use eni oil!
