A friend of mine is looking to buy a V11, any variant considered, there's not many around at the moment for sale so it's worth a try here

Go for the best you can find, the Le Mans is a superb bike had one for 10 yrs no major problems one that has sensible mods like a Stucchi x over and more open pipes really lets the engine go! be a bit more careful of the variants with the single plate clutch they have been known to self destruct.

The engine paint can look a bit iffy BUT clean and recover with either Harley crinkle finish OR WILKO'S MATT BLACK METAL PAINT, if the paint is iffy on the rocker covers go to Ray Dunkley "Bike Aquablasting" it leaves them a nice satin finish that only needs a good waxing polish to keep them looking great

Good ones well looked after fetch about £4-£5k .....the bare sports are less The Billabaio has a more upright riding position the Le Mans is very similar to a VFR750 Honda. They are becoming "sought after" well looked after you are unlikely to loose £ on one

Do make sure he knows what he's getting into!  I rode a V11 Le Mans and couldn't get on with it at all - felt like neither a modern bike nor a classic; just felt wrong to me.

But that's just me, many love them. If he knows what he wants then good hunting.

Well I had a vfr750 and for me the V11 le mans was a vfr on steroids, but then after 10 yrs and me not getting younger swapped for a Cali EV the owner hated the EV , the heel toe and footboards ..... horses for courses I guess adore my 76 V1000 really like the EV and the Le Mans was also superb Yes you have to RIDE  them countersteer and get the tyres spot on ie pressures but it was quick, stable and made me smile ...a lot ... the new owner really likes it ...... Like ALL Guzzis make sure you ride one before parting with money

As Ken says have a test ride and if possible make sure that test ride is a couple of hours so you get to know the bike a bit better
