Right,  i finally managed to get a new ignition key from Teo lamers despite the best efforts of Yodel not to deliver it.  the key cost me £40 inc post.  when i took it to get cut the locksmith (real one not a cobbler) measured it up against the original and stated it was thinner by a couple of thou and he wouldnt guarantee the cut - told him to do it anyway, another £7.

guess what - the key wouldnt work, inserted but wouldnt turn, nothing else he could do until he said I can get you a Silca key with a transponder for £7.  ordered it up, got it cut, cost me £14.95 in all, worked like a dream in that it fitted and turned but of course wouldnt activate anything as it was not yet programmed. -= Supplier was XL, easter road, edinburgh.  Silca key number - ZD30T5

took it home and followed the procedure - access the diagnosis system, code in - original key in then out and new key in.  followed all instructions.

the new key starts the bike but there is a big SERVICE statement on the dash, not a spanner, big letters and a red triangle.  the engine runs, bike behaves normally but I cant get the SERVICE and red triangle off the scree, irritating.   when I put the original key back in everything is normal

anyone know what i have missed ?

i will keep the new key as the spare in any event but would be good to know if i can get the warnings off the screen

go into diagnostics in the dash , erase all faults , code the key into the dash , you need user code to do this . find full instructions on-line somewhere . or call me .
