I like and admire the engineering and attention to small details but not necessarily the bike as a whole. I had hoped the drive off the flywheel was going to a supercharger but it doesn't look like it. Shame.

The way it's parked, looks like just pushing it off the center stand would instantly settle any debate about its worth.

I guess if you paraphrase George Mallory from 1923 you get the answer

“BECAUSE IT’S THERE… EVEREST IS THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN THE WORLD, AND NO MAN HAS REACHED ITS SUMMIT. ITS EXISTENCE IS A CHALLENGE. THE ANSWER IS INSTINCTIVE, A PART, I SUPPOSE, OF MAN’S DESIRE TO CONQUER THE UNIVERSE.”

Nothing wrong with Fireblades; a fine example of modern design and technology, but there is something about older engineering that's been updated in a unique way that makes it more interesting and engaging; a bit like finding out your Gran was the lead guitar in a heavy metal rock band! But this has to be preaching to the converted, we all own Moto Guzzis don't we!
