Regarding price. I don't think it's too cheap. I sold my Touring for about that. Higher mileage but better equipped. If i wanted another 1400 I'd go for it.

You're not the only one to have sold bikes too cheap...set the bar too low to encourage bids and only got one. Dhooo!

I'm on me way Brian! Always happy to collect unwanted gold bars. Don't bother cleaning it up.LOL

`Surely as long as you go in with your eyes open, the price doesn't matter.

The seller is a known trader, which means you have plenty of backup from the sale of goods legislation, so there shouldn't be any risk.

As said, the bike has been in that dealer for several months, so clearly there is no big market for it. In the end, in this country, it's the market which dictates the price.

I have this gold bar I am prepared to give away. I know it's safe to offer it like this because giving it away makes it too cheap, so I know nobody will want it. LOL
Brian.

I see your point quite clear , but I get fed up of guzzis people always thinking eBay and cheaper bikes are always Something wrong . I sold 6 bikes in 1995 well cheap because I lost my home because I didn't I budget correctly they were bargains  lol

In this country these are hard bikes to sell there are few riders that have the guts to be different , the only worries I would have are tyre changing , and throttle not having cables but younger folk would not worry so much . I would love a Matt black custom Thumbs Up

I don't think theres anything deliberately dodgy? Its a local to me main dealer Harley / Ducati which has been here for 25 + years, They sell on very tidy trade ins against those. Guzzis are not their normal thing and dont think they know a lot about them.  Although they did have a cali last year which sold.  Bike was traded in against a BMW R9T and has been there for quite a few months - also a sale on at the moment. I have seen on tinternet a Cali with bags / screen etc ooop north for less money, but I agree most are higher money as more recent and lower mileage. They say they will do the 6000 mile service and check out the pulling to right. Also the accompanying test rider is a long term biking friend working for the shop and I'm sure he would let me know if he had any issues. Wink

You have to remember that when looking for your next bike,
That every silver lining has a cloud.  Ask me how I know.
On second thoughts, please don’t!Big smile

If it looks too good to be true then it probably isn't.

Original silencers contain the cat.converter under the heat shield portion. Don't know about after market stuff.
The engine revs 'hanging' before dropping to takeover 1100 to 1300 rpm was normal on mine and the 2 others I've ridden. Just ignored it having learnt to declutch a little earlier rolling to a stop...otherwise high takeover causes a higher than expected approach to give way/ stop signs.

I presume the cali 1400 has a catalytic c, is it under the bike or in the standard exhaust ? Do the lanfranconis have one in and does the bike need an electronic box of tricks to let it run right ?

Also, let go of the bars and it pulls to the right - (my Griso does not at all, totally stable) - could this be a sign of rear subframe issues ive read about ?

That's odd. My Touring would track dead straight with cruise control on and hands off bars. While rolling a fag at 70 mph. Which is strange as I'm a non smoker.  To get the bike off line took a lot of effort. So not sure why your test ride bike pulled right.

I think the X pipe issue affected the earliest bikes. My 2013 was fine.

Right - Test Rode !!

WoW - FANTASTIC pulling power in Tourismo and Veloce and good handling, very comfy and lots of room to move about with footboards. Bit strange with gears and footbrake so far forward but easy to get used to. Lumpy, viby tickover quite characterful and smooth as silk on the move. Nice and low revving with plenty of pulling power even in too high a gear but open her up with revs and whoooooahhh !

But - the Lanfranconi exhausts are a lovely sound but so bloody loud for the rider, almost painfully so - don't know how loud they seem to passers by ?  can you get DB killers for these ? Have asked if they have the standard pipes with it but they ar'nt sure.

Also, let go of the bars and it pulls to the right - (my Griso does not at all, totally stable) - could this be a sign of rear subframe issues ive read about ?

Also revs hang at about 1500 for a few seconds before dropping to tickover.

Apart from that it looks immaculate and with metzeler tyres.
