I understand in France, there have been a number of fatalities where a fallen rider has been hit by a following car at night. Thus the insistence of retro reflective patches.

Under current French regs, they must be included with the helmet.

Just looked at a bunch of new helmets online, can't see any reflective stickers?

The CE markings are mandatory on all clothing sold in the shops. They won't be asking you to show your leather thong on the roadside.
Same applies to the reflective stickers, new helmets sold must comply and have the stickers, but riders can continue to wear appropriate older helmets, not the latest compliance.

I saw this on a French forum, copied from the French regulations at that time, so I think it's genuine.

So, if most of my ancient kit doesn't have CE markings will Monsewer Genderme know ? I've got gloves over 15 years old - I said I was cheap. Mind you, some of the new stuff seems to be missing CE or is in a different form?  Ah...f#ck 'em! Last thing on  my mind is being worried about a label...or reflective stickers ...Censored

It's the European version of the UK BSI or Kite mark.
