BTW - Although someone managed to fit in a Loop reference further above on this thread, do we need an Admin to move this to the big block section?

Thanks all--especially for mentioning the later models (CARC) which fit taller riders better.  As I just started looking at newer models yesterday, I am ignorant of these models.  Could someone define CARC?  I starting looking at the V11's last night and was sorry to see they are again sized for short legs, long torso like earlier models.  I will begin looking at the carc models you guys mentioned.  Thanks much.

The 3s are taller....higher seat if memory serves and 4s n 5s generally suit taller people... longer headstocks...that said my pal Trev (6ft 2 ) has a Mk 1...may have rearsets...l've ridden the bike but I forget....he has no issues with it anyway....
Comparing the earlier Tontis with spines n carcs is like chalk and cheese....we have Mk1 n 2 Les Mans...a 1000s and I recently sold my Daytona....an awesome motor let down by chassis and running gear.....the old uns for us...everyday of the week....and twice on sundays....

If I were you, I would give any bike you fancy a tryout. You might be surprised. I'm 6ft 4in with a 35in inside leg and, although I don't have a LeMans I do manage to wrap myself around my V7Sport.

I haven't got a photo of me with my feet on the V7Sport's pegs but have for my old, much missed S3.

I don't have any problem with the knee to cylinder head interface but there's no way I could carry a pillion. It might all come down to just how flexible you are!

Thanks Mike H for the CARC article. Kateguy, I appreciate your thoughts on the older models which might work for me and your friend's experience with the Mk 1.  V7John, thanks for the photos--encouraging.  And I have had the same though about just trying models I'm interested in--I will have to travel to do that as Flagstaff is a smaller community--but Phoenix is 140 miles away and is a huge metro area.  Love the photos of your V7's--what beautiful bikes (that seem to fit you well).  Great technical blog.
Again, thanks all.  I'm impressed with the responses--what a great community.

I'm 6'3" 34" inside leg and have a Mk1 Le Mans with Agostini rearsets.
Fits perfectly.
With original footrests - horrible, need kneepads

Iane653 if you're only worried about toasting your knees on a LM1, this was fitted to Tonti Californias, still available here: http://www.la-boutique-italienne.com/spip.php?page=liste-produit-neuf-1moto-1categ&cdmoto=93&cdfamille=SE
Sorry, trouble with links, just copy/paste.

PS: I just realised LeMans have 6mm manifold screws, not 8mm, so it might be tricky.
