Came out of work at 4.30pm and pass a junction at a sainsburys. As usual there's some git spinning his german wheels trying to get out. Nothing behind me, I thought. He can wait 3 or 4 seconds. Nope - out he comes, I brake and give the universal sign of disapproval.
Cue the 25 year old gangsta in his big VW whatever slamming on and waiting till I pass then shouting what i expected.  Go away sir, I said poilitely (yeah right) but he follows me to the roundabout and makes an offer to punch my fat etc etc face in.
Now, I'm nearly 55. I am quite chunky at 17stone and 6 ft 3. But, the thing going through my mind is this.  It could end up in court. I'll probably lose because (cynically or not) I'm a 'biker'. Plod will not be nice. Plus the wife will kill me. That's if I've read it wrong and I can't flatten this cockerney gobby turd.
He even took his coat off and threw it on the floor, all the time calling me naughty names. So, I asked him why he couldn't wait the 3 seconds until I went past.  No answer, just 'f#ck you you sh@t c%nt etc...

I'm tired of wonkers like this cutting me up every day. But I can't be scrapping at 55....can I?

There was a work mate passing in his car and he asked if I was ok. He's 5 ft 8 and 10 stone. I reckon we both could have taken the gangsta...Yin Yang

In the old days I coulda....etc etc     John the Meek

I'm afraid (pun intended) that these days I just let it go. They have to live with their miserable selves and you can just imagine what their home lives are like.

I've been a near victim of road rage 3 times - twice on a bike, once in the car. Fortunately in each case I managed to make a sharp exit before physical contact took place.

I'd rather let them go than risk physical injury and as you say potential court appearances.

It's not worth it any more.
There are more prats around now than ever there was.

Back when I must have been a gangsta before we knew what they were, I was always up for a go at gits like that. Now, I just let it go. The world is full of 'em.
Henry Cole made me chuckle today: On his World's Greatest Motorcycle Rides, John O Groats to Lands end, he saw a Porche: "Oh look a Porche Boxter. The thing is, if you own a red Porche Boxter...you are unpleasant." I thought how succinct and, brave, for a broadcaster

I think I've posted before - " it's the indignity that really stings ".

It wasn't your fault but you get the bullsh*t from this lowlife.  I'd love to teach this kind of person a lesson but, as you say, you'd probably come off worse in the eyes of the law.

As recommended by others, rise above it - nothings annoys a gobby git than a lack of response to their childish behaviour.

What is a "Gangsta?"
I know what a gangster is. Is it the same?
Feeling really old (60) and out of date.

A gangsta is a wannabe gangster, with a limited supply of consonants.

I drove a lorry for many years and believe it or not even in something that size I got cut up quite a few times. The opportunities for retribution did arise but the consequences of a truck versus a car is a tin can with blood pouring out of the crumpled remains and personally one image I can do without. Best to perhaps avoid putting yourself into a situation by watching out for erratic or aggressive behaviour and giving them space. Perhaps even take a good look at your own riding style and skills and see if a change there would make your life a bit easier. Hospitals are pretty stressed already and really don't need another heroic road warrior.

Funnily enough had a similar thing this Summer kid got out of his "motah" started on with how he was gonna kill me ....I kicked out the sidestand took off my lid held up my hand and very calmly asked What happened to the last person you killed? ....the you wot on his face was a picture, like you I am like 17 stone and 6 ft 1"

I just then said look mate stop being so aggressive, the whole thing was then stopped as Police car pulled up officer got out asked what happened Kid then instead of being calm got real gobby with said Policeman, I looked at him and shook my head and held out arms, he told me to get on the bike ride away he would deal with the matter, so I did leaving kid raving at the Police literally swearing and jumping up and down cop did not even ask me for name and address.....sometimes you have to laugh ... Always best to stay calm I think, whilst inside figure out where to stop them if they come at you some drivers just get soooooo angry at the whole World and sometimes it is not the yoofery sometimes it is folk who really ought to know better .....
