I'm renovating a Tonti Guzzi 1977, and prior to my ownership, somebody has kindly removed the lug which is welded to the headstock on the left hand-side that houses the steering lock. I would like to re-instate this if possible prior to painting the frame.
I don't require a complete frame, just either this part carefully cut off or preferably a headstock complete with the locking lug in place. Therefore I thought that if somebody has a bent frame which they have hung onto for sentimental reasons for years and would now like to make it useful, please could I buy the headstock / locking lug?
Please note, it isn't the lock that I require, it is the lug that houses the lock.

Not a lot of point to the old style steering lock they can be easily broken by someone whacking the bars , they are utterly useless to be fair .....

I know, it's just that I will shortly be starting my complete rebuild and I would prefer to have it on for originality if possible......but I'm not that bothered if I can't sort it!

Funnily enough I was looking at my Le Mans 2 frame the other day while measuring the forks etc. and noticed that someone had done exactly the same in the past, now covered by a rubber bung. This bike will be a special so I won't bother reinstating it, and I think it'll be tough enough to find a frame spare nowadays that'll offer up a decent steering lock lug. If you're doing a full-on back to original resto Reggie, I understand.

Does seem like a lot of aggro... with lots of opportunities for making a c0ck-up of the frame...
