Just thought I would post a couple of issues I have had with a 2009 Stelvio TT for your delectation.

(i) Total failure of all electrics while riding along.

Luckily I was on the way to my dealer and was able to push it the last 2 miles. All fuses and plug connections were replaced/checked, new dashboard fitted, etc. etc. Nothing. Turned out that the wire into the back of the main fusebox had a dry joint and come loose.

(ii) ECU 62 failure

This relates to the stepper motor earth and happened, of all places, on the Stelvio pass. I had no idea of the cause at the time so limped northwards until a friend texted me the diagnosis. There was no apparent issue except an occasional low tick-over (800 rpm). The problem became intermittent and seemed to go away when I came to a halt suggesting a loose connection. Dealer option was replace the part (very expensive as much dismantling is required). I declined.

I ignored the problem and it went away for 600 miles then returned (of course) while continental touring. After half a day it went away again and then became intermittent, often associated with changing down and coming to a halt.

The main problem is that the warning message overrides useful information like distance travelled, MPG, voltage and all the other things one monitors to make sure the bike is healthy. I've got used to it now and just curse the thing.

Anyway, hope these experiences help others. If anyone has any ideas on the ECU62 issue I would be grateful.

i've had this happen on a norge gt 8v whilst i was still at C.I. ( where i used to work ) , wiring from stepper motor , loose contacts on plug to stepper .
