Yep, they live among us, and I’m starting to think we might be outnumbered! Ouch

The trouble is you watch the video and just shrug your shoulders because we`ve all come to accept it as normal that there are drivers out there who, seemingly, just want to kill us.
I have just seen the pictures on Yahoo news from South Yorkshire police showing a biker 15Ft in the air after a head on crash with a driver on the wrong side of the roadhttps://uk.yahoo.com/news/horror-crash-motorcyclist-hit-by-car-wrong-side-of-the-road-081604613.html

The video confirms what a wuss I am when riding my bike.  After checking what’s coming down the outside lane, I would have moved over as soon as I observed vehicles about to join the dual carriageway.  There’s absolutely no way I’d have got so close to any of those vehicles, nor would I have passed without giving a wide berth.  I take the view that drivers can’t see me / don’t bother to look etc., but if anything happens, I know I’ll come of worse, so I try to compensate for idiots.  Not a criticism, just an observation.

Sorry, but most of those (couldn't be bothered to watch to the end) were easily avoided by just being a bit more patient and tolerant and using anticipation and observation. Especially the first with the car joining. Why not just let it in?

I agree with Ian why be right and dead. Enjoy the ride make allowance for others. Police motorcycle rider's handbook is a good read.

Today I have done a round trip 0f 6 hours and 368miles all motorway and duel carradgeway and for a change I can say everyone drove well and apart from the heavy throttle I can confirm the Guzzi took it all in its stride.

I can't see the point of the video.
I thought everyone who rides a bike knows they are out to kill us.

For me,  car drivers  do  the same things to car drivers  , I don't notice any difference in the frequency  , 2 wheels or  4 although obviously  the outcome of any  "contact " will  be  a lot different .

Now that I do agree with. They are not out to kill us specifically, it's just the way they drive all the time.
I've seen enough bikers doing stupid things too.

But there does seem to be an assumption by many that when joining a motorway it's the job of those on the Mway to avoid you.

When I use the word "they" it's not related to how many wheels they are supposed to have control of.

It could be a pedestrian who looks the wrong way and steps into your lap.

Ask me how I know this.

I was taught that whenever you venture out onto the road regardless of your motive power to be cautious; proceed as if everyone is trying to kill you and you may just survive.
