Hi All, Declan is my name and I drive a 1200 sport 13 plate. Today while driving I noticed the speedometer needle fluctuating a lot and then settling on 0MPH. The warning light also came on but went off again. Later in the day the same thing happened and the warning light came in again. Has anyone any idea what might be causing this ?

Is this driven by a cable or electronically please?
If a speedo cable then this would indicate classically a cable on its last legs ultimately snapping

If the bike has ABS then the speedo is driven by the front ABS pickup. If no ABS then it's driven by a pickup on the rear swinging arm.
Has it been wet when you were riding? Certainly the rear pickups are prone to getting damp inside and this causes the speedo to do funny things.
But is the digital readout OK?
Brian.

It’s Abs. And it was a bad day on the road today. The fugal readout seems fine - however it is showing the red alarm light and service indicator is on. I checked the ECU and iDCU and it gives me faults in fuel sensor that I am aware of, oil pressure sensor and throttle handle is out of position. Thanks
