Is there such a thing? I just bunged on whatever I could get at the local bike shop, and which would best suit me. |

That type (pictured) were fitted to my 850GT when I got it. I found them to be too thin. It felt like I was holding the bare bars. They were promptly replaced by fatter cushioned ones as below. But I'm sure they're still available.https://www.lightinthebox.com/en/p/motorcycle-handle-bar-grips-rubber-1-pair-right-left-for-motorcycles_p7095267.html?currency=GBP&litb_from=bing_shopping&sku=1_45&country_code=gb&utm_source=bingshopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaig

I’ve got those on my SP which has Yamaha controls and find them too big for comfort. Tried to get the twist grip one off yesterday but the buggers on there with a vengeance. Gave up in the end, after all, what’s a little discomfort to a WW2 survivor?

My preferred method for grip removal is to insert a thin screwdriver between the bar and a grip and squirt wd40 in beside it. Roll the screwdriver round and round to walk it around the bar adding wd40 as you go. Once round it should just slide off.

If I don't wish to re-use a grip then the easiest method of removal I find involves a Stanley knife.

looked at the grips in Ray's stuff they are Suzuki ones sorry
When I remove grips I get a thin screwdriver warm the grip then slide it under then use WD40 with the long tube and squirt it in move screwdriver around using that gap a slightly bigger dia .. more Wd and i find they work loose ... wring it around the screwdriver shaft they pull off. Then using white spirit clean the bars and pop new grips on. Some OEM grips are applied with a glue so warming them with hairdryer seems to allow movement WD40 seems to help free them off. If grips are worn and being chucked then yeh cut them still found you have to warm and then clean residue tho'

I used a heat gun to melt, sorry, soften the bastard, then stuffed a thin screw driver and sprayed WD40 down it but it still wouldn’t budge. The Stanley knife beckons, but I think I’ll hold off for a bit, then I’ll catch it unawares and off it’ll come!

Are you referring to the Brummie's screwdriver?
