I would think it would be relatively cheap to get the hole tapped at a local engineering firm.
Just take the pump and the metal spigot thing to them. They'll be able to identify what the thread size is and it will be a ten minute job. I was an apprentice toolmaker, long ago, so I know it's an easy job for a professional. Think of all the money you'll have saved not buying a replacement pump, and it should be unbreakable Big smile.   -  -  -  -  -   the fuel line connector can still break though Confused.

I Googled 'Engineering firms near Edinburgh' and it brought up a list.

This one http://www.chesserengineering.co.uk/ is the kind of thing I was thinking of.
Best phone a few and see what they say.

Right here is the part : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171228856296?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

The thread is an6 which you need a 9/16 x 18 unf tap.Not sure of the bore diameter of the hole but needs to be 13 mm. I would need to be tapped to the right depth to point in the right direction and would need sealed with fuel resistant tape or fluid. Also need to check that the 5/16 (8mm) quick release fitting couple ok.
A lot of trialing needed which is why I have not got around to it....yet.

You wouldn't be able to fit two of these side by side as i a v11 pump where you have a flow and return pipe as once one was fitted it would be in the way to fit the second.
You would need to add an adapter like this but I cannot find them in uk

Just wondered because BSP threads are used all over Europe, but called the metric equivalent, dating back to the time when Britain was about the only world producer of iron pipe.

I reckon a replacement could be made using hydraulic fittings (brake pipe fittings) Sort of like in the picture below but formed at a right angle This would negate the issue with the AN-6 right angle fitting i posted above.

I think the fuel pressure is around 30 psi, that's why the fuel return line is a biger bore than the supply line, any one like me that has turned the ignicion on when the return line is disconnected will vouch for how far the fountain of fuell go's WinkLOL

Ahh that looks similar to the Triumph (?) replacement after a few of their bikes  had problems. Don't see why it wouldn't work.

i saw that one, as i have already ordered up the original part i reckon i will refit but use this type of connector on the line for easier removal if need be - i take it that pressure wont be an issue ?
