forgive the language, its just how I feel for a stupid move today on the Norge 8v.

decided to take tank off again to look at the fuel gauge for anything that might get it going.  have had tank off twice before so didn't expect a problem with the so-called quick connector.

I did and during the struggle actually managed to snap the sod off at the neck of the red fitting to pump, must be stronger than I know.

so - is this a replaceable part (took the pump out and it doesn't appear to be to me, or is it a new flippin pump - will the older pump fit?

why does the fuel line just connect with jubilee clips or something more easy to use ?  feels like it will be an expensive weekend

Yeah, I hate those connectors.
Just found this  - SORRY, didn't work.

Click on 'New parts', Breva 100,1200 etc, etc, Fuel and carburettors, go to page.2 of 3. and scroll down five places. Hey presto, £25 to you sir!

Good luck with it.

Thanks Old John, I had spotted that when getting scared at the pump cost - big problem appears to be getting the old one out, I have read that it is not designed to be removed ?

anyone know if other models pumps will fit ?  Guzzibits has a griso pump for 1/3 cost of new and looks same plate - do they operate at different pressures or something ?  just wondering in case there isn't an easier fit.  the spigot would be if I can remove the broken one without damaging the seating

I would be very surprised if they work at different pressures Jim. If it will physically fit in your tank, I would have thought it would work.

I know some people on Guzzitech have drilled out the old red angle, threaded the hole and fitted some metal connector there instead.

I did read that Brian but that is too technical for me.
Does the fuel pump operate at high pressure ? I am thinking i might be abnle to fit a brass fuel line connector between the broken pipe parts ?

To be honest I don't know the pressure, but it's not in the diesel league.
What sort of brass connectors were you thinking of?
The plastic one Guzzi fit relies on an O ring for a seal, nothing more, so there can't be much pressure.

Just a ribbed in line connector - brass or fuel resist plastic fitted to the pump end and the fuel hose connected to other end.

Tahe spiggot oldjohn saw on Gutsibits looks like an exact replica but it is getting the old one out that would be a problem - something about a securing o ring that stops it coming out ?

Down in saunderfoot at present ...
From memory it has a o ring which seals the spigot, it is held in by a sort of spring serrated washer thing ....

Jim I replied to your email but thought I should add to it here. Drive the broken one out from the inside with a suitable rod.The serrated washer that holds it in will score the hole on the way out but the replacement should fit ok, here is a thread with pictures on the v11 forum: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16766

just heard from Hadyn to remove the connection on the other side and it can be hammered gently using a rod, I will try that

I must admit I would consider sourcing an alternative quick release fitting made of metal. There are certainly inline ones out there.

I have sourced a metal one just don't need one at the moment, I will post details when I get home, cheaper than the guzzi bits one but need to tap a thread in the whole

Thats my problem, never had to tap anything before so dont know how to and dont believe this is one to practice on. I will order up a replacement from Gutsibits and re fit, then make a brake in the fuel pipe after the quick connect and make a join there that i can easily disconnect and wknt need to touch the quick connect - at least thats my plan

I got the old fitting out with a bit of bashing

Also spotted a misfit on the fuel sensor and kweping fimgers crossed on that one
