That year of BSA will likely have the Aerial full width hubs and 1 inch diameter front wheel spindle, in my opinion the best option.
With green linings you'll find the brakes very good if well set up. If you want less flex in the fork stanchions, Norton Roadholder stanchions will fit, and you can ream out your worn BSA fork bushes and reuse them. I would love to have a bike like that to worry about.

Well HE’s a lucky bugger. Two great bikes. Wish I’d bought yours instead of worrying about the weight! My friend has owned a Rocket for over 50 years, and one of our rides is to Lowestoft where the guy he bought it from has a garage. The Rocket is thrashed mercilessly and so far the only failure has been a rear wheel puncture. Great bike, but I’m sure it won’t be a patch on the one you get Robert. Looking forward to the piccies!
