Yes, I understand the chances are low. He's looking for patina to match the bike.

He's also looking to replace his Cali seat for something lower and maybe gear change from RHS to Left.

Sorry, bit off topic ,but this reminds  me of the time I had a bicycle shop. Member of the local cycling campaign group wanted a new bike and brought fellow members to help her chose. After a considerable amount of discussion among themselves, the bike of choice was duly pointed out to me, but requiring various major component changes to said bike. Upon analysis, and listing the various mods demanded, I pointed out that the only part of the bike that would be left from the “donor” Bike would be the frame and forks, and that the cost of the selected high quality components would add considerably to the price of the bike.  Unfortunately, they expected that the upgrades would be provided at no extra cost to the buyer, and I found it very difficult to get them to understand that upgraded components cost more.  On top of that, they expected to take possession of all of the components removed from the bike, as “that was the one they were buying”.  And they weren’t from YorkshireLOL  Fortunately, on hearing the campaigners were visiting the shop that day, my son had taken the precaution of hiding ALL sharp and heavy implementsBig smile

it used the standard clamps on the fork stations, then had an aluminium spacer plate each side with bolts and bushes through - best with a pic - this one sort of shows it

I am still using the fork clamps and ali spacers though
