Its been on going a year now with me picking all your brains and believe me I am grateful for all the replies and help I have received, a year on and my 750T is at last rideable and I completed ten miles today.
Only a couple of more questions so she's perfect, having tried the recommend spark plugs Champion and NGK, she will only run reasonably properly on Iridiums cannot think why that should be, any ideas please? Also she is only a Little hesitant at picking up below 35mph but perfect after that?? The smaller carburettors mixture screws are only turned out one turn, manuals differ but most say 2 1/2 turns, it is this small hesitant pick up I am trying to get over now, then I have a friend for life. Any comments please will be gratefulfully received to bring and end to this long journey. Mallywoods

What happens if you turn out the mixture screws to the setting recommended in the manual?

yes all original jets, floats checked and rechecked 23 1/2 mm fuel inlet valve closed float bowl mating surface to top of floats. she's running really well exempt a bit hesitant at lower rpm, ok over about 25mph, removed plugs and found not wet. properly will have to live with it, don't know yet what the fuel consumption will be with the mixture screw only one turn out.

Sometimes a trade off , lumpy idle but good transition or vice versa.
Most of my carb bikes have hiccups somewhere along the throttle range, but if its happy and plugs good I'm happy

Yes you are right I think I will leave it, it has taken me nearly a year to get to this rideable stage and that's with lots of help from you good people. thank you all again, she is a lovely comfortable old bike for me and at 70yrs she is light and easy so she stays with me.
Maybe one day I will investigate why only iridium plugs, but now is the time to enjoy when it stops raining.

The mixture screws are often in the manual a guide I find they often are slightly different settings the start point is as per manual then you have to figure it by ear .... it does take some time and patience engine needs to be warm too or, I find the tick over will be high.
Take time the rewards are worth it.

Thanks for your reply,,, I am sure you are right in what you say as this is what I have been doing, even taken a screw diver on a test run and making adjustments , I have just also check tightened the air inlet manifold both sides and although and found them secure but managed a half turn on each bolt in case of a sight air leak and sure this has achieved a bit of improvement, she is now running the best its ever been so am happy at last. Still cannot understand why she will only run smoothly on Iridium plugs.
Winter project is going to be a carc bearing I think its called as I do hear a bit of a wine, maybe they are all like that and therefore have no problem, but for now thanks everyone for all replies they have all contributed to success.

I set up my mixture screws 1 1/2 turns out and then fine adjusted with a Colortune. One carb was a little different to the other. I balanced the carbs with a mercury gauge. It now runs very sweetly.
