A lot of Guzzi Le Mans owners used to polish their exhaust headers and cans with the stuff. It did a great job, but now, as with all good things, they've stopped using the original 'recipe' to save us from ourselves.
So, is anyone using a decent alternative? Only one I can find that resembles it is Stovax; has anyone tried this. Maybe this aspect of polishing our exhausts has just died out.

Don't remember Zeebrite but I do remember my Gran using Cardinal Red on the front door step. Still don't know why.

I used to use gunk until I saw a tip that 50/50 mix of turps and parafin worked just as well and was much cheaper!

When I was a kid me Mother used Cardinal on the vestibule tiles. We had three steps to the front door which I would bound up in a gazelle type leap, land on the coconut mat and crash arse first into the vestibule door. Only then did I hear my Mothers plaintive warning, "I've done the floor"

My Ma used to donkey stone the front step. Y'know, the one leading to the vestibule.

It was a terraced house. The gap between the front door and the vestibule door was less than a yard. But my Mom was a terrible snob. If I came into the house she would enquire using my middle Christian name if it was me . Which was code for No Swearing "the Vicar's here". Everything was in code. When jeans came out I asked for a pair and was told "they are common" which meant we had no money. Happy days.

Searching the hut today for some screws and found at the back a tube of Zebo, same distinctive black and yellow as Zebrite. I didn't know it was there, wife bought it years ago to do a grate she was selling and then tossed it in the back.
