Hi all, I’m looking to get some parts on my old Eldorado rechromed and I’ve previously used London and Brighton Plating who were very good however they have stopped doing restoration work. So can anyone recommend a good motorcycle friendly rechromer preferably in the Sussex area.
Thanks Ian

I've used these people:

http://www.chromefix.co.uk/

and they did a very nice job for me. They're currently mirror polishing my stainless V50 exhaust system.

I did however hear that another customer was less satisfied and of course they're a long way from you.

This is an example of their work:

Exhausts and other parts chromed, headlamp rim and smaller parts nickel plated....

Thanks, I also have had some mixed reviews of another plater nearer me, I guess it depends on what they have to start off with and how much restorative work they do before they replate, I would like to be able be to speak and deliver my parts to them personally, so I’m hoping for someone a bit nearer. I shall just have to see what comes up, that’s a very nice motorcycle you have there.
Cheers Ian

Another recommendation in Birmingham.  I normally use a guy in Hinckley, but was recommended to try Ace Plating in the centre of Birmingham.  Dodgy area and I really was nervous about trusting them, but the quality is first class and the turnaround is 10 days.  And unusually (in my experience of chrome platers) the guy actually believes in service.  If any part's not good enough he'll re plate it.  I just got the parts below done for my V7 Sport.  How about £145?  Fantastic price and service!

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll give him a ring. I will also let the forum know how I get on and with whom when all done.
Cheers Ian

That's a good price for those V7 bits. Did they need a lot of preparation?

This is what I had done at the people I mentioned. Cost me £270, so a fair bit more than yours. When it comes to the Norton I may follow your example.

If it's not too late - Ashford Chroming seem to have a good reputation (but I have no first hand experience):  http://www.ashfordchroming.com/motorcycle-chrome-plating
