I don't know anything about Guzzis of yore, but that looks like 'a proper bike' to my 60 year old eyes.
Very nice indeed.

Why thank you for those kind words, but as I said it's really not so nice in the flesh, it's showing it's best side in the pic.
The exhausts are rotten, the frame /starter etc are hand painted. It's covered in very odd nuts and bolts and needs plenty of TLC. However the tank and panels have been nicely repainted. Rivet counters health warning I was torn as to restoring it back to original or to convert it into something I've seen and fallen in love with. The costs for both worked out similar but the heart won out. The Amazon Scoro was built by Urban Motors and to my mind is the ultimate Guzzi café. This link takes a while to load but it allows a 360 degree view of a beautiful machine. I've always thought that the need for lightness in a café compromised it's looks in one respect, I actually prefer the side panels to the empty see through frame. With lightweight fibreglass panels this one ticks both boxes. Anyway, after I'd seen this picture of the Scoro below, research brought me to the Bike Shed and Nick Sharp's (nearly famous?) bike which is very similar. Here's his blog Sorry to upset the purists, but I've kept all the parts and think I'll most probably make use of them on a future project, most likely a proper restoration of a T3 or similar. |

I've started a photo blog for anyone interested. (Ah discovered the hyperlink button!).
Don't expect any quick progress. This is a very long jobbie as I've got a lot on.

Oh yeah, forgot you said at the Ace Cafe you were going to build something with it. Check out John W's blog, IMHO opinion he builds the best/most original Guzzi specials in the UK currently: http://motonero.blogspot.co.uk/

It's your bike, your money, and your time, so do what you want is what I say. Part of the attraction, for me, of the T3 in its original guise is that it looks like a bike I could ride without suffering from age-related joint pain!

That's right Ian. It was an itch that needed scratching. Bought from Nice 'n fat from UKGSers. It's condition actually helped me decide to Café it. Most of the parts that need work - barrels, exhausts wheels will be replaced or upgraded. I'm sure he made a decent cut, but I was happy with our final price. Some of these bikes are going for silly money nowadays. |

I couldn't agree more. But the T3 is not exactly a rarity so my conscience is clear, and there are a few more years left in my knees methinks. |

Is there really any such person as a purist? We all have our preferences, and we are each fully entitled to them.
