Subject: OK, I'm doing it again.

On Sunday 10th March I am doing a 15 mile walk in aid of the Royal Marsden Cancer Research charity.
All money collected goes direct to the charity and is used to further research into all aspects of the dreadful disease. This research is shared worldwide too.

It's a sad fact that most people will, at some time, be affected by this disease, either directly or by a close friend or relative being affected. I am doing this in the hope that more people can be cured in the future.

If you read my story, you will understand why I hold this special charity so close.

I think this might be worth saying, and I'm pretty sure that Brian_UK won't say it, but some who have joined more recently might not get the back-story:

Brian_UK is our leader. He set this fine place up for us to play in, and asks absolutely nothing for it. And it's the nicest place around. No fuss, no bother, no membership fee.

Once a year, he does this thing, and - as you'll see - he doesn't ask for any contribution, but helping him to do something that he cares very much about is one way that we can thank him for making this place for us. Just saying.

Got to say this is the best forum I have been on. No committee, no back biting, just good advice and plenty of humour,
Well done Brian

Good luck with it. I'm sure you'll do fine. Thumbs Up

Well, just had a message to say they have had to cancel the walk due to a yellow weather warning for high winds, issued by the Met Office.
They are concerned about the number of childern and some eldrely and slightly frail people getting hurt.

No information yet about recheduling unfortunately.

Too busy walking to worry about photos, but Orange was the colour of the day, and looking along the road all you could see was a sea of that colour.

A very big thank you to all who donated, including some offline donations it stands at over £400 plus the gift aid bit. More than I expected.
