Hi,
I'm on the look out for Guzzi Bellagio to keep my Griso company.
Cosmetics not an issue as long as it's mechanically sound.

Any body got one to sell?

Yes so I've discovered!
I guess one will show up sooner or later I'm in no hurry.
( I saw one near me in Horsham some time ago, should have bought it then)
Anyhow I've got my Griso to keep me happy!

Damn!
Sold a couple of weeks ago.
Shame as it looked in top shape with low mileage.
They don't hang around for long!

The bike on their website with 34000 miles looks as though it may have been my old bike. I sold it to a guy from Wales with 33000 on the clock. During my ownership I attached an Allen key to the sidestand with a jubilee clip to help my boot find the lever when parking and I can just see it on the pic. Unless of course another owner took up my idea when I posted on the forum about it.

Not (quite) a complete bike but have you seen this?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Moto-Guzzi-engine-/201552412710?hash=item2eed75c026:g:fCgAAOSwll1W1Xkg" rel="nofollow - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Moto-Guzzi-engine-/201552412710?hash=item2eed75c026:g:fCgAAOSwll1W1Xkg

The start of a Cafe racer build perhaps?

What happened to the frame number?

I'd guess that it was removed as the bike was a Cat B write off and can't go on the road with its previous identity.

I thought I read somewhere you could return a cat B to the road? Why remove it anyway? If you were to try to register it, surely it would be listed as such?

I got this from and Insurance Company site:

The ABI categories of 'write-off'

Category A: Scrap only - this vehicle should have been crushed. It should never reappear on the road and there are no economically salvageable parts. It is of value only for scrap metal - eg a totally burnt-out vehicle.

Category B: The bodyshell should have been crushed. The vehicle should never reappear on the road, but it can be broken for spare parts plus any residual scrap metal.

Category C: Vehicle extensively damaged and insurer has decided not to repair. The vehicle should have an independent inspection before being allowed back onto the road.

Category D: Vehicle damaged and insurer has decided not to repair.

Category F: Vehicle damaged by fire and insurer has decided not to repair.

Surely it needs a frame number.

or woud you just use the engine part

Posted By: BondEquipe
Date Posted: 17 Apr 2016 at 19:27
The point is that the "bike" cannot go back on the road. Thus I guess you could use the frame for a track bike or bits of it for a kit car but not the whole thing nor the identity.  I'd missed the obliterated frame number first time round.  Would it fit in a Tonti?

I think it's engine + drive train only, though you'd think the seller would make it crystal clear in the insertion that the frame was missing its VIN/been cancelled from the DVLA system for whatever reason. I'm sure it'd fit into a Tontoi frame with minium work, quite tempting...

This Is going crazy!
All I wanted was a used Bellagio to customise but it seems that's too much to ask.
I have given up on that as the Bellagio seems to be like the lost ark in MG circles!
Best and easy option for me  ....a used V7.
I'm fed up with all the bollocks!!!
Bidding on a V7 right now...keep yer Bellagio's!

Hi All,
Thanks for all your help and advice.
I have kinda gone off the boil looking for used Guzzi's, I went after three V7's over the weekend.
All sold!  (wrong time of the year to buy me thinks)
I'm sticking with just my Griso unless something unmissable shows.

Wildhenry.

Bellagios do come up for sale, but it's a case of waiting and watching. To do that you need another bike mean time, especially now there is a sign that the weather is changing for the better.
I sold my Bellagio to go the classic way, but of all the newer bikes the Bellagio is the only one I would by now. I would be tempted to give it a face lift too, if I got another.

I'm hearing you. Bellagio was the first Guzzi I rode that put a grin on my face after 23 years of an LM. Sold it to buy a classic. Bought another Bella later, and modified to suit. Will likely keep it forever.

Damn!
In the process of buying a V7 now...me and my impatience.
Thanks for the tip off .....but they are asking a fair bit more than I wanted to pay as I'm planning to customize it to look more like a V7 but with 75 bhp!
Why oh why didn't Moto Guzzi put the Bellagio engine into the V7? that would make a great bike!
If the deal doesn't come off I might go for it although I doubt it will hang around for very long!

Sods law!
As soon as I drop my search for a Bellagio due to no bikes for sale and switch to looking for a V7 Stone instead, a Bellagio shows up and now I can't find a V7!

Think I'm going to just enjoy my Griso for now.

Wildhenry.

Patience! Keep on looking for your Bellagio or take a trip to Europe and get one there.
You will love it.
Here's mine. I've done what you're thinking of. A V7 style with 75HP.

Hi,

Nice custom job on the Bellagio.....much nicer than the V7 Racer and with about another 28 bhp!
About how much did it it cost to do?

Sheepskin. Yes. Makes the hard V7 seat a bit more tolerable on a long journey. Looking for an Airhawk cushion.
