Hi. I resprayed my  v11 sport fuel tank last year It was scratched & tatty. I've heard that as they now add 10% ethanol in the fuel causes paintwork to blister, & mine has done just that. Does anyone know how to treat the tank prior to spraying to prevent bubbling? My initial thought was to give it a coat of epoxy resin, any thoughts on this.

Sounds to me like the scratches have gone through the clear coat, the clear coat is the protection from the nasties in petrol etc.

Suggest easier set way is to sand it down and re base then clear. No need to go right down as the primer should be sound if it isn’t then re prime base then clear.

Hope this helps

Cheers
