"I refilled with good fork oil and the damping is still good at 57k miles." I forgot to mention that I pulled out and discarded the rubber bladders in the top of those damping cartridges. I used a small spring hook to snag enough of that rubber bladder to get a bit out the top with the Shrader valves removed and pulled out with pliers. Then put in some fork oil for the damper to work again. Then replaced the Schrader valves with a bolt with the same threads to seal the top as that air assist preload was worthless anyway.
That's why I shimmed my springs to get the front end sag to a better setting.
