Hi there. Loving my guzzi but an occasional spark failure on the right cylinder has become more frequent. I have cleaned all the connections and the motoblat sensor and tried different plugs but no improvement.
So now i am wondering which of the ignition components it could be (phase sensor/ignition module/coil)and if there is an easy way to trouble shoot. Am i correct in thinking swapping the plug leads wont help because the sensor fires each cylinder ?
Any insights suggestions much appreciated.
And if it works....a crappy phone photo of my NTX in TT clothing.
Thanks.

Could be a coil on the way out.

As you say, just swapping the plug leads won't work. But you could disconnect both coils and refit them on the other pot, then see if the misfire changes too.

Thanks Brian.

Good idea. I will try it.

Coil ? Could be. Usually only fails cold and seems to be happening more frequently and for longer.

They look like the original Nippon Denso. I imagine i have to stay with 2 seperate coils ?

un saludo.

You have to stay with the existing setup, yes.
