In a way that's good as a replacement injector will sort it. Had it been the harness side, you would have had 2 problems.

If it was an electrical fault you would have had a fault code generated.

Not 'mechanically', but each injector has it's own set of Parameters in each Map.
It's highly unlikely though, that one 'side' of a Map could be corrupted.

The Connector for the Injector (on the Loom side) is an 'Industry Standard' type, same as on Injectors and various Sensors on thousands of Bikes/cars.
Replacements are readily available, and cheap.

I admit to knowing nothing about fuelling maps but this is fuelling problem on a Norge 8v or what was done to the existing map, but this bike has 2 lambda sensors, would there be a similar problem if the map for a single lambda bike was loaded (1200 Sport, Brevas I guess) in error?

I mention this because when a new map was prepared for me, Todfdm askede to confirm  whether I had a single or dual sensor bike.

S
for the English, my Forum Editor inserts random letters.  I actually wrote "Todd asked me ... to confirm".  The lonesome S was Sorry but the rest of the word disappeared - when I inserted a paragraph break before the S  the "orry" changed itselfiitself intoainto s u  p b             Ok, "s u p b" was me pressing the space bar only.  There were more words thrrebthrre buttbut theydthey disappeared to be replaced by s u  p b

I would suspect that the bike would not run well from the start if it was a map problem, unlikely to start happening later in a ride.

Interesting theory about the lambda sensor numbers.

My editor keeps typing gobbledegook, bit that's down to my fingers not obeying my brain. Or is it the other way round?

I believe you also have to 'disable' the Lambda Sensor(s) via GuzziDiag when using an 'Open Loop' Map?

Apparently not. It seems you cannot switch off lambda sensors from guzzidiag You need tunerpro software. and Beetle says he disables lambda sensors in his maps. So the fuelling will be directly from the map with no external inputs/ corrections.

Reverting back to the original map did nothing,  it would cost it was the injector.

Doc, pm me your address and I will send you the bits to play with

Sorry, yes, in TunerPro.
Knew I'd seen the option somewhere.

Thanks for clarifying.

That was quick.

So was it unlucky coincidence or something more ominous? I think the former.

Enough others have updated fuel maps without that sort of problem.

Looks like more ominous- bike ran like a pig, same as before, wouldn't go above 5k revs.  Both plugs black sooty.

Both injectors doing their job.   I had the tank off to take out the Finebau unit so will go back under and check all the connections in case I disturbed anything, damn it
