Hi Guzzi Riders,

I'm new to this forum. I've been restoring V50lll and turned it into a cafe racer. I'm wanting to change the stock front forks (32mm) with a bigger set. Maybe off a 650 Lario. Is this an easy option?

Regards,

Jason

Welcome! Plenty of small block knowledge here - someone will be along soon, I'm sure!

Welcome if you get no info here try facebook pages and look up Tim hicks he has successfully put a 750 engine into his Monza ......... thing is before you go to the extra work of fork swapping remember the frame design as was for the Guzzi Twins is very good they were designed to handle well on skinny tyres and do that brilliantly it was even said they represent the Italian version of a Featherbed frame ..... the Guzzi V50 Monza is a good reference point as a starting place for Café racer style, find a 750 engine and drive train and you will be well on your way

I think the basic small block frame remained the same through the range, but can't be certain. If so then the headstock and bearings would be the same on the V50 III and the Lario. So swapping the complete forks and yokes should be fairly simple.

When I want to swap parts I give the guys at Gutsibits a call or have a word with Pete at reboot they see loads of Guzzis and often know what will fit what
