Good evening everyone, hoping to soon join the gang, tomorrow at 09.15 I am going to view a v50iii, it's a beauty

It has been unused for 14 years, I have no idea how much of that has been outside.
Apparently someone tried to steal it and smashed the ignition and that was when it was parked up, former owners son has it and I am not sure he knows what he is doing.
All I know is that it is red, exhaust on the side I have seen still has some chrome, seat cover has disappeared, rear mudguard is off but there, generally it's utterly unloved.
Last year I restored to MOT a bmw k1100 that had been standing for 9 years and a couple of little rg125 fun's, I'm hoping I have some idea what I'm doing......
Anyway, he wants £300 but I'm hoping to beat him down..

Wayne.

Thanks for the welcome, I have now viewed it, seat is totally ruined, engine not seized, one silencer held on with wire, one fork slider gaiter full of oily water, both tyres flat and cracked, the list goes on, generally unloved.
I have offered £200 but only if he finds the keys so I can open the fuel flap, it will be reduced to £175 if he can't find the logbook

Welcome to the Forum

Welcome loads of help and assistance on here .....one simple thing to consider look at the reclaimers like Reboot and Gutsibits and figure the cost as the small blocks in top condition do not fetch the sort of dosh the 850+ range, not including the loop frames of course a good cond V50 can be found for well under 2k ....A while ago I bought a running V50 for £250 it took under £70 to get it to mot standard BUT to make it look half decent we spent £500 ......once all sorted not to concours but decent it got £1500 .......... I actually do have some assorted spares for a V50
