On a budget of less than £1000! Looks fantastic, personally I love the chrome tank. Respect.

Thanks for the comments guys, I want to get using it as I finish off a few more bits. I want to make some new brackets for the silencers out of tube, and will possibly go with centre stand as well as side, as its better for storage in my garage..

Nice job one thing we found out about the tape on front pipes is it will really screw them even Annies' Virago with stainless front pipes, tried it as being SH ort she often melted waterproofs, so tried the pipe wrap took it off made spaced off heat shields BUT the state of the stainless was in believable IF they had been chrome I think they would have been scrap. Just a note from what I found out.

Re. The front pipes, not a fan of wrapping but with one stainless and one chrome front pipe both in poor condition and with some damage, it was. The cheapest way of tarting them up. I did however take note of some advice and wrap them top to bottom. The reason being that any water on cold pipes will rundown. I did. However make the mistake of wrapping the first pipe in bare hands. I had shards of fibreglass annoying me for about a week. Did the other side wearing latex gloves. No problem.

Hi all, just an update, I needed to sort out side panels and had a few ideas, anyhow I saw some Aluminium number boards on e-bay and thought I could do something with them. After fiddling around, I realised that I could rivet them to the original Nevada panels, plus I added a small bracket on each so that I could secure them with a screw for extra security. Had to bend them slightly and I need to paint the parts of the Nevada panel that are visible though that can wait till another time as I just want to start using it. Mot in the next 2 weeks and I have decided to keep the centre stand, so I need to prep and paint it.

Still have to change the front indicators and tidy up the front disc carriers, but these can be done when I have more time. I'm sure there will be some other things that I will change as I start using it. It's still on the original Nevada size wheels and I have just found some chunky knobbly tyres (made by Bates) that will fit and look really good (saw them at a Harley specialist) they come out at about £230 the pair, not sure if that includes Vat, Will probably go for the later in the year. |
