does anybody know if there is a paint code for the Black paint used by C&H when these bikes were resprayed in black / gold?

Got to do a minor repair on a lower fairing, which will be much easier with the paint code.

Any help much appreciated  Smile

cheers,

Martin

AFAIK was done or jobbed out to be done by Coburn & Hughes in the UK, so unlikely to be standard Moto Guzzi colours.

Your best bet is go to a car paint shop who's got a colour swatch. Or they could scan it for a match?

I seem to recall (from various articles?) they were all farmed off to 'Dream Machine' for that paintwork, courtesy of a dock strike.

Even if they were, the chances of getting someone to provide the 'code' from way back then would likely be asking for a miracle.

Who's got the most untouched one, and can look at the inside of a panel?

I never found a code for mine, even contacted dream machine.
The Gutsbits site has a link to rspaint.com
The colour is not an exact match, the black lacks the gold fleck that is in the original, and the gold is brighter and more yellow in the new paint.
So maybe get it scanned...not an expert on the scanning though so don’t know how close that would be.
I did the whole three panels last year so I didn’t mind the difference or notice.
