Hi, All, just turned 5500 miles on my 2017 V7 III Special and I love it. No issues, just changed oils. Can't compare to previous V7's as I haven't ridden any, but she handles great, pretty smooth for a v-twin, shifts very nice up and down, and comfortable to ride. I can reach ground with my 29" inseam, being 5'6" tall. Seat is pretty comfy for about 150 miles, looking for a 1.5 seat tho for the looks. I have changed the wire spoke wheels for the Stone alloy wheels, like the new Milano has stock. Put a set of handlebars about an inch higher with 4" pull back and a Dart Marlin screen and of course fork gaiters just because. Got rid of a new Indian Scout because of the riding position and 130 lbs less weight. Hope to find out all kinds of stuff here. Interested in an aftermarket exhaust system but do not want a loud one so will keep looking.

Hi. The Scout was on my radar, but theV7’s Riding position seemed more natural.

A very warm welcome to the forum take a look at the decals mind may be cheaper to got to a vinyl cutter and get your own done the logo "eagle" is listed on line as Moto-Guzzi rude eagle BUT it is in fact a Victory |Eagle the "fingers" are inside towards as per the Churchill V for Victory as opposed to the other well known gesture it's origin was winning The Battle of the Twins ....against Harley and BMW twins and others ....

Hi Jimbo, and welcome. I'm new to Guzzi with a V7 III Special in black. Love everything about it except, like you, I wish the bars were a little higher and a little closer. I'm shopping for a set of bar risers. What did you go with, and did you need to get longer cables?

Hi Jimbo ,
welcome ,     I love to look and see what kind of roads people ride in those far off lands which with google street view is so easy.
Where abouts in Oregon are you (not street, just nearest city), which is your favourite road of the day?

cheers
AndyP

I went with Bikemaster Daytona bend (#110551) handlebars, perfect for me, no changes to cabling. I'm in Eugene, Oregon, lots of nice roads around here and my closest dealer is in NE Portland, which is a nice 120 mile ride on back roads, from here to Brownsville north towards Silver Lake.

I like the stock handlebars, and given my limited mechanical skills, I''ve decided to order the SW-Motech Vario bar risers. I was looking at Roxspeedfx, but the SW are easier to get and a little cheaper. We'll see in a week or two when they get here. And now I have a good excuse to buy a decent torque wrench, too.

20mm? Anything more might stretch the cables perhaps. P!ease let us know how you get on with that, I have thought about doing the same.
