Back from a good week watching Southern 100 in IOM apart from the terrible crash in the last race. Next day I took my grandson to Squires and gave him the change from my pocket and asked him to get the drinks he pointed out that I had a pocket full of round £1 pound coins and he did not think they could be spent in England. They have the three legged IOM sign on them. So are they spendable or is it a good reason to go back to IOM?

It's bloody ironic you say this.  I've just been offered one at work and, with a lack of any information about them, I declined to accept it.

I need to find out my company's position on it.

Company says No.  Unless it explicitly states Sterling on it.

The currency is the same, your bank would be the best place to start asking. Same applies to Sctottish notes.
Bear in mine the round coins have been out of circulation for some time now, but the B of E will still honour them.

Apparently like NI currency it's not spendable here.  But yes, banks who and post offices might be helpful.  I took out of date notes to my post office

We go evey year to marshal at the Classic TT / MGP. We try to unload any Manx money by the end of our stay or it has to be changed at the bank when we get home. If cash is needed at the last minute I seem to remember that the ATMs at the Sea Terminal dispense English notes.
