do an e-bay search for moto-guzzi internal fuel pump loads in uk Around £25-£26 ....they are a car part buddy I think the part is listed in alternative parts the TDC/RPM sensor is as I put it there with the Intermotor part No

I've had the exact same problem after refueling. I think sometimes the storage tanks are low at gas stations, so the pumps pick up stuff from the bottom. You'd think the various filters in their system and also your bike filters would catch it, but apparently not. The last time it happened to me was on a carburetor not fuel injection bike, and when I stripped it the main jet was totally blocked, also float bowl had a pile of black stuff in the bottom! Cleaned all that up and she started and ran perfectly again.

Since then I have always used StarTron fuel additive, and never had a problem. This stuff is a great American invention IMO, as it keeps you fuel good, restores old fuel such as our OP had in his Cali, plus it gives the engine a bit more go as well. I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you're lucky enough to have a number of bikes sitting in the shed for a while, when that lovely modern fuel starts absorbing water and so forth
If it dropped off, you probably didn't need it anyway!
