Hi,
I'm Rob, live in Leicestershire, UK and I'm not only new to the guzziriders.org but new to Guzzi ownership!
I've just bought a new blue  V7 111 Special on March 1st {had to collect it in a van I am ashamed to say (but the weather was snow, ice and mega salted roads).
Managed to put 200 miles on it over the weekend and am very pleased with it.
I also run a Kawasaki 1400 GTR which is now 2 years old with 25,000 miles on it. The mileage was one of the reasons I've bought a second bike. To try to keep a bit off the Kwak.
I wanted something very different and with a bit of character. I also wanted a shaft drive and a lighter bike than my big tourer - hence the Guzzi!
I've fitted a Hepco & Becker centre stand and rear carrier and am looking forward to the better weather.
I am considering fitting a small screen but have read various unfavourable reports about the Moto Guzzi option with riders complaining about excessive turbulence and wind noise. So that's on hold for now.
I've owned 30 odd bikes over the last 40 or so years but this is my first Italian one.
So far so good!
Cheers,
Rob

Welcome
you are right about the screens, the standard guzzi one deflects water onto your hands
but you can expect the sort of protection as you would find on a fully faired motorcycle
I have a Breva its stablemate and I fitted a PUIG screen, however I changed the mounting kit as I did not want it to look like an old brit bikes with bits of metal everywhere
keeps my hands warm and dry most of the wind off me
I dont have it fully forward as I like a bit of a breeze to clear my visor but it does not suffer from the buffeting that the guzzi one did

Hi Johnno,
Look forward to hearing about your meet ups, Thanks.
PS: That ZZR 1400 is actually a 1400 GTR, the shaft drive tourer version of the ZZR but it can (and does) shift a bit!

Hi Rapheal,
Thanks for the info about the screens,
The main issue for me would be the noise and buffeting, rather than the water deflection.
I ride wearing a Schuberth C3Pro, which is really quiet - though not really in-keeping with the Guzzi "look"- but I do like the helmet.
I don't want a screen that ruins the enjoyment, just one that takes a bit of wind pressure off my torso.
Again, many thanks, Rob

Hi Ado,
Thanks for the welcome and it's good to know like minded Guzzi owners are abundant in my area.
I'll keep an eye out for them!
Rob.
