Well three months ownership so far and just one annoying niggling fault of the "click no crank" syndrome.
wiring modification, new battery, new ignition relay
still an ongoing problem love the bike but I'm not sure it loves me as yet

Wiring modification done
eg 15 amp fused feed to the yellow wire on the ignition relay
cut end ( that goes to ignition key ) isolated
Cost £3.50 as a Diy mod

brand new battery fitted (motobatt gel)

Brand new ignition relay fitted.

Wizzes over and starts straight away!

Let's see how long that stays the same

Off for a ride to test it out now

Great news.
Hope you can spend lots of trouble free miles now and get a better feel for the bike and use out of the V1200 engine.  I was showing off to friends at the weekend and approach the bike in the shed after being parked up for a week.  Started straight away - think the wiring mod really helps as long as the battery is not tired (mines new too).  Enjoy

I think the motobatt gel battery with higher cranking has made all the difference

All the pictures have disappeared due to photobucket new policy
but
I'm not paying $400 pa to use it

That inevitable day when you press the start button, hear a faint click somewhere, but nothing else happens.

I'd prefer not to test that one.
