Hi my names Mick and I'v been a Long time lurker and sponger. So thought I should introduce myself. Thanks to this forum I have fixed the start issues with my 1200 sport. I'v owned it for around 4 maybe 5 years now and only managed to cover a pathetic 6000miles in that time. Not the bikes fault more mine and the fact I have another 5 bikes to choose from. I know I'm a greedy bugger. The Guzzi has been fairly well behaved for an Itie. But I have been commuting on it in the last few months up and down the M11 in torrential rain so corrosion has set in everywere unsurprisingly. But I was a little surprised to see condensation in the clocks for the first time since owning the bike. So there currently off the bike drying out

The clocks taking in water is a known problem and there is lots of info on here about it. |

I'm a little reluctant to drill or cut holes in the clocks at the moment as its the first time I'v seen them condensate. But if it reoccurs I shall be doing that.

A small amount of condensation in the dash is not so much of a problem. But if it builds up inside you get pools of water in the bottom and this often leads to problems on the circuit board which is very close to the case. Certainly don't even think about drilling holes in the case with the internals still in place. Best thing is to think of a way to protect the dash against water getting inside.

The year of the bike will make a great difference to what you can do with the dash but I would think it has the earlier clocks which did have problems and are easier to take apart. A subject much discussed in 2019 and well worth a look back at the threads

I should have said its an 07 sport in black not that the colour makes a differance. Thinking back the clocks have been fine up until the moment my Laminar Lip flew off in strong cross winds over the Orwell bridge. I realised how well it worked when it was there one minute and then gone the next. I think I need to look for another.
