Hi all, was told of a unit that can be bought from the states that upgrades the system, the guy is running it on a couple of 60's hondas. It replaces the condenser and takes the load away from the points works on an ohms range of coils, this I've too check. The site is Kirk engines www.kirkengines.com. One unit per points set.

That sounds like a transistor assisted ignition system where the points only carry a small triggering current and a "black box" provides the main current to the coil(s). Boyer do a similar thing: http://boyerbransden.com/IDunits.html but of course you need one for each cylinder. I fitted one to a Triumph 500 unit twin and it improved the starting and idling quite a lot.

Yeah they call it a transdensor. It's the same size a condensor, but needs mounting away from the engine.
