By way of a follow up. See the picture above. On the light switch the little red rectangular cover has come off. Luckily i saved the little spring and ball bearing inside. All in good condition I am happy to say.
I want to know if it is right to stick it back on with glue. Would that be the right thing to do, or is there a better way ?

on the lemans light switch there is an inner ring and and outer ring with sliding contacts between, the best way to take the switch apart to clean the contacts/freshen up etc is to remove the spring and ball.
If you glue the red cap/cover on you will have to resort to prying it apart (in the event you think you need to delve deeper into the switch). If it won't stay together without glue I recomend you give the switch a good overhaul, clean the contacts etc etc and then glue the cap on, will hopefully see you out |
