It looks like the previous owner painted the engine themselves and it is starting to look very tired and scuffed. I have considered having the engine taken apart for vapour blasting, but I am not keen to open an engine that has absolutely no oil leaks at the moment.
I am advised that it would be easer to clean / sand the engine and repaint it myself as removing all paint by hand down to the ally will take ages - any advice? If I paint, what is the best engine spray paint to use? Thanks

Best i found war s Hammerite smooth for crankcases and Halfords hi temp for cylinders .... satin looks way better than matt and easier to touch up ...However also look on the Frosts website their marineclean and metal ready is good
