My V50 Monza is in a similar collection of boxes except my engine was blasted after it had been built!! needless to say sand in engine. Your end result is excellent and I would be interested to know how you burnished the fork bottoms to such a finish and did you lacquer them.

CHRIS

The fork legs had a very thick coat of primer, I used scotch brite mops to remove that.
Then mirror polished them, and the fork yokes. Not lacquered.

I have great respect for people who do their own polishing. Filthy horrible job - I'm much happier tackling engine / gearbox / electrical stuff and farming out the nasty bits!

You're not wrong about polishing being a dirty job.

Wish you lived nearer ~ i'd give you my horrible jobs  / and happily polish yours! I actually love polishing. The satisfaction is immense.

I quite fancy the black stripe on the tank for my 750T. Must also look up scotch brite mops!

Has the sidestand been modified? The bike doesn't look like it is about to fall over and I can only see a single spring?
It’s more fun to try to ride a slow bike fast .....

As far as I know the side stand hasn't been modified.
In the end I fitted the second spring, but I think it's fair to say that care needs to be taken when using the stand.

Mine stands at about the same angle - I've fitted the (single) spring to the forward tab on the stand and made a bush to cure the sloppy pivot as well as an extended tang so I can get my foot to it. It still requires some dexterity to get it to stay extended when astride the bike though.....

My V50 stand was never intended to stay down when the weight was taken off it.

When Guzzi altered the design to allow the stand to remain down, they also added the safety cut out switch.
Brian.

I don't think mine is "designed" to but it does.....

I hate spring up stands. My Matchless G80S had one till I modified it and I had several fraught moments trying to avoid ending up in a heap.
