Hi Guys

Can anyone please tell me the size of the Fixing bolts (caliper to disc shroud) for the rear caliper. It was dismantled when I got the bike & they seem to be missing

Thanks

Mine are m8

They slot into place before the disc goes on, the heads are stoped from turning by an inset.

There isn't a lot of space but a standard hex head fits fine, and does not foul the disc.

I would suggest something to hold them from falling out while you fit the disc.
( i used a couple of old o rings over the thread)

I'm sure mine fitted the other way, head on the outside and a captive nut between the shroud and disc. Yes M8 but the length is critical and I don't remember what that was.

As Brian said. The nut isn't actually captive as such but does sit in a recess and can drop out if you're not careful.....

As he said the length is critical otherwise it can either contact the disc (if too long) or not have enough engagement (if too short).

Part number 98622422.

19 mm ,under the head, might be best to Loctite or better wire lock them

or have the bolt pointing out and end both problems :-)

Apologies if you remember i did not have the original so had to replace both bolts.

I think the 8m allan heads were standard across the callipers meaning they needed to go into captive nuts (though the nuts were loose).

My fix was to replace with hex head bolts pointing out and eliminating the possibility of them fouling the disc and falling on to the void.
