Going on my memoery only, which could be suspect, the lean burn carbs had a shield round the needle jet orifice.

Who knows what a P.O. might have done to the carbs? Maybe this might help:

Oo-er - don't know of a 'lean burn variety' of the PHF36, I thought it was the smaller jets that did that. So presumably you could change them. |

I remember reading about lean burn (for California) when I had my SPIII which had PHF 36 carbs.

Recently fitted a full custom Mistral polished stainless exhaust, looks fabulous. Seeking either a full racing-style fairing (eg. Stucci), or a factory centre fairing section in red. With thanks and ride safely, Dr. Zip. >>>---> |

A belated welcome to the board Dr. Zip! I have the 40mm Dellorto's on my LM4 so I don't know a recommendation for your CA 36's. Mine were strangely set for the EPA in 86' a bit on the rich side for the 450' above sea level in southern Indiana, FYI. You might find some info from the MGNOC (USA - Moto Guzzi National Owner's Club) members?
