It seems that the DVLA have shut up shop as only key workers can contact them by email or phone, which means my Monza may have to wait another few months before it sees the light of day and finally gets registered. I may be on for some sort of record here as my original application went in September 2019 with a final confirmation of acceptance of the paperwork on 16/03/2020, a few days before lockdown
Although riding the Monza is not an issue at the minute just nipping to the shop on it would be a nice option as a shakedown run. My stable at the minute comprises 2 bikes on sorn, 1 bike not registered, 1 car with MOT postponed and 1 car about to be sorned thro` lack of use. All this and petrol down in price with wall to wall none stop sunshine, you couldn`t make it up!!! CHRIS Edited by c13pep - 23 Apr 2020 at 14:35 |

While you have my sympathies Chris, it could be worse.
I considered lapsing the V7´s insurance ´til further notice -- ¨No way José ¨ It has to be insured even if it´s up the campo, off the road under a fig tree, or a pile of bits in the shed. All registered vehicles here need insurance. Regardlesso.

The main problem is that we are all sat at home with nothing really to do, unless you like decorating. I can`t go out and buy another project without wondering how I`ll get it home.
Frustration levels are reaching epic proportions at the minute with daytime television of no help whatsoever!! However my household is still relatively healthy as is the bank account (not going out to spend anything currently) so I`m a lot better off than many I suppose Rant over CHRIS |

Chris,
All "official" bodies sem to be moving at a glacial pace at the moment - we're trying to sort out my late mother's estate (she died in November) - absolutely nothing is happening at any speed.. Yes, it all is rather frustrating on the project front too.. Understandably stuff seems to be taking an age to get here by post - I would get on with the BSA if only the fork stanchion puller would arrive.. I too have now resorted to decorating.. The paint on the garage side door frame has been jumping off for years, I am now giving it a bit of encouragement.... Still hear the occasional wail of a Japanese four race pipe up the bypass, not sure how much in the way of essential supplies you can get on a sportsbike... Cheers, Adrian Brsitol UK |

My fingers are barely able to type thanks to an overwhelming bout of dizziness brought on by the DVLA finally registering my bike. This thread started in 2018 when little did I know that registering would take longer than rebuilding. There was also very good news in that they have returned my cheque for £36.85 saying that the bike is already taxed for one year, so don`t know how that`s occurred but the only other cheque I sent was for £55 registration fee. Perhaps it`s a `well done` reward for lasting the marathon effort needed to register the bike.
Today I don`t need to ride to have a huge smile on my face, hope my hip holds out long enough to give the Monza a good thrashing, trouble is I`ve got to run it in first CHRIS

Well done, it's good to have an happy ending. If I remember correctly, this is your original number plate, but with an DVLA invented frame number stamped on the opposite side to the original frame number? What a palaver you have had

It’s more fun to try to ride a slow bike fast .....
