Hi I am looking for some help.

I have just purchased a 850T in Walnut Brown from Italy and as expected the switch gear near as dammit does not work. What is my best alternative to keep it original in appearance. I understand the tomasselli items are no longer available.
Would i be best going for the lego type or perhaps there is an alternative out there better.

I should add i have found a start button with on/off  which intend to use so i can keep the tomo twistgrip.

Any advise appreciated.

If you're not wedded to absolute originality I used a Yamaha SR125 cluster on my V50. Obviously the wiring colours are different (and it doesn't have a headlight flash facility) but it works very well - much better than the original, which you can pack away somewhere safe.

Hi Thanks for that,

I was trying to at least look like it came from the 70s, but being practical at the same time.

I guess i will have to consider what i can get. Would prefer the original stuff restored but this doesn'tseem possible?

I’ve put a Yamaha YHA 205 handle bar switch on my loop, it has the 70s typical alloy finish and look.  I got it from Wemoto and I think it cost about £30.00. It’s ok but I suspect it’s a Chinese’s copy.
Cheers Ian

Have you looked on ebay.it? I have seen new "twist and snap" type units (pre lego type) on there so I think they are available from Italy from someone. Its a case of keep checking. I've found that the Guzzi Singles specialists only advertise some things, sometimes on there. They seem to have a different attitude to advertising and selling (UNDERSTATEMENT!) Not cheap of course.

Hi
I tried there but no longer able to get a replica.
It would seem they are no longer available other than a second hand set that are likely faulty anyhow.
So I will look for a practical alternative.

Any suggestions welcome.

I fitted a VTR1000 left hand switch on my Spada. All the same functions and does away with the headlamp flash relay. I left the original right hand switch on as it only does the start button. Someone in the past has bypassed the kill switch.

r1 and others have a small r/h sw gear I have on my V1000 and yam tdm on left Cali EV standard is yam switchgear from their cruiser range the old lego stuff is rubbish most ditch it unless they want a bike to look at.... nb the V11 le mans switch gear is the same as Honda firestorm only difference is Honda have coloured switch knobs Guzzi are all black apart from kill switch Vehicle Wiring Parts have a 1" wide r/h switch enabling you to keep Tomasselli twist grip

Now mind yer tongue young man. I'll have now't said bad about the lego so I won't. Mine aren't the original ones, having rebuilt or resoldered  them over the years. Have a box full of bits to build them with. (Give me a PM if you need anything).
Having been through 30 something pairs of tyres on my G5 as well, we know nothing lasts forever.

Cheers
