Hi,
Stupid question, but I just took the rear wheel out to get a new tyre fitted and the silver steel top hat bush that sits on the axle and goes through the alloy brake calliper support bracket came out. It can fit either way, but it’s ‘top hat’ acts as a spacer so effects the alignment of the brake calliper. So does the top hat of the spacer go against the swing arm or against the next steel spacer on the axle that goes to the wheel bearing? (I think it goes against the swing arm). Is there a parts list I can check against? Thanks Andyb Edited by Andyb - 10 Jun 2018 at 11:26 |

Hi Andy,
The top hat end of the spacer goes against the swing arm (or more precisely the brake caliper mounting bracket). If it's the same as mine (V7 II), the top hat tapers down to the diameter of the main body of the bush, rather than being stepped. HTH, Pete. |

Many thanks Pete, if yours has a taper then it could not be reversed, while mine with a step can. Unless anyone else disagrees I will fit it as yours is

Wheel back in with nice new Pirelli Scorpion Trail radial - stamped the same size as the original Pirelli Demon Sport but it must be a bit wider as I had to remove the bevel box to get it in. Even with no air in it. A real pain. Not a job to do on the roadside.
To reassemble I removed both rear shocks and reassembled everthing with the rear wheel on the ground, then raised the wheel and refitted the shocks. Is there an easier way???? Andyb
